Wine Advocate-Parker : This is Ugo Lequio's headline wine. The 2014 Barbaresco Gallina shows more ripeness than you might expect of this vintage, which is known for cool and soggy conditions. This is a common trait that I have found across the Barbaresco appellation that saw less rain and an end-of-summer heatwave compared to neighboring Barolo. Indeed, Nebbiolo here had an easier time achieving full ripeness. This is a soft and tempered expression of Nebbiolo with graceful lines and a silky disposition. This is a good near-term option.
