Characteristics and tasting notes of the Godello 2025 by Bodegas Vionta
Tasting
Appearance
This white wine reveals a bright, clear yellow hue, enhanced by delicate greenish reflections.
Nose
The aromatic expression is intense, marked by an elegant floral bouquet intertwined with aromas of white fruits, such as apple and pear, all enhanced by a subtle citrus note.
Palate
The attack is smooth and pleasant, offering lovely freshness. The structure is well defined, supporting a profile resolutely focused on fruit.
Food and wine pairings
This cuvée pairs wonderfully with seafood, Galician empanadas, as well as creamy rice-based dishes or white meats served with mild sauces.
Serving and cellaring
To fully appreciate the Godello 2025, it is recommended to serve it at a temperature between 14 and 16 °C. The bottles should be kept in a cool place, away from light and vibrations, while maintaining a constant temperature.
The authentic expression of Godello from Monterrei by Bodegas Vionta
The estate
Founded in 2013, Bodegas Vionta is located in Meaño, in the heart of Val do Salnés in Galicia. Led by Úrsula González, the estate is now part of the Ferrer Wines group, itself integrated into Henkell-Freixenet. Although its panoramic facilities are rooted in the Rías Baixas appellation, the bodega has developed a genuine multi-appellation brand strategy. It thus offers wines from various Galician terroirs, combining cutting-edge technological equipment with a desire to showcase local grape varieties, both on the Atlantic coast and inland.
The vineyard
The grapes used for this cuvée come exclusively from the D.O. Monterrei appellation, located in the inland regions of Galicia. This Spanish terroir benefits from more continental influences, offering favourable conditions for the full expression and ripening of the local grape variety.
Vinification and ageing
The making of the Godello 2025 begins with manual harvesting, followed by careful destemming and pressing. After static settling of the free-run must, fermentation takes place in small stainless steel tanks under strict temperature control, kept below 15 °C. The wine then benefits from two months of ageing on its fine lees to gain in complexity. Finally, it is clarified and undergoes sterile filtration before bottling.
