Description
The aromatic intensity and finesse of a Premier Cru red wine from Chambolle-Musigny
The estate
The Bouchard Père & Fils estate was founded in Beaune in 1731. With almost three centuries of history, Bouchard Père & Fils is one of the oldest estates in Burgundy. At the head of an exceptional estate in the Côte d'Or, the family’s 9th generation still perpetuates their unique know-how in the art of making fine Burgundian wines.
Built up over the years, the vineyards of Bouchard Père et Fils estate now spread across 130 hectares of vines. Combining prestigious Burgundian appellations and exceptional plots, the Bouchard Père & Fils vineyard owns a truly unique wine heritage.
The vineyard
Stemming from a 2.85-hectare vineyard planted on a stony clay-limestone soil, the grapes lead to the production of a fine Chambolle-Musigny wine.
The vinification and ageing
The hand-picked grapes are rigorously sorted and totally or partially destemmed depending on the vintage. Fermentation in small containers. Gentle pressing. Vatting for approximately 15 to 20 days. The wine is aged for 12 to 14 months in French oak barrels (40 to 50% of which are new) in the Bastion cellars of the historic Château de Beaune.
The blend
Pinot Noir (100%).
