Appearance

Nose
The delicate nose reveals sublime aromas of fresh fruit.
Palate
A lively and harmonious attack precedes a seductive palate with persistence, precision, and complexity. Notes of pastry, stewed fruit, thyme, and subtle smoky aromas then emerge. Sculpted and vibrant, the finish lingers on aromas of grapefruit zest and sea salt.
An exceptional vintage champagne balancing roundness and liveliness
The estate
Since 1843, the Champagne Krug House has honored the dream of its founder, Joseph Krug, by creating a new Edition of Krug Grande Cuvée each year, the most generous expression of Champagne, regardless of annual climate variations. At Maison Krug, each vintage pays tribute to the unique character of a given year. A Krug vintage is not only a blend of the most expressive wines from a single year, but also a bottle that matures for over 10 years in the cellar before being unveiled. Each vintage is unique, revealing an original composition, subtly interpreted by an ensemble of musicians and captured by Krug.
The wine
Krug 2011 is a fascinating story combining finesse and power, earning the name “Sculpted Roundness” from the House’s Tasting Committee. For this prestigious estate, the year 2011 produced a distinctive champagne, full of character and opulence while also displaying remarkable vibrancy.
Blend
This 2011 vintage champagne is the result of a blend of pinot noir (46%), chardonnay (37%), and pinot meunier (17%).
