Description
The complexity and structure of a Pauillac Grand Cru Classé
The property
With a vineyard located on the greatest terroirs of Pauillac, Château Grand-Puy Ducasse is one of the most beautiful properties of the prestigious appellation located on the left bank of Bordeaux. Founded in 1675, this 5th Cru Classé stands out for its wines that offer a precise definition of the Pauillac terroir, for their structure and their incredible capacity for ageing.
The vineyard
Château Grand-Puy Ducasse is a Pauillac wine whose vineyard was gradually built up and assembled by the lawyer Pierre Ducasse in the 18th century. This 40-hectare terroir is spread over three large plots. The vines are 25 years old on average and are planted on silica-gravel terroirs.

Characteristics and tasting tips for Château Grand-Puy Ducasse 2017
Tasting
Nose
This Château Grand-Puy Ducasse 2017 displays the power and strength of the great Pauillacs. Aromas of black cherry, delicious dark chocolate flavours, fresh cedar and subtle smoky notes of tobacco leaves, the aromatic bouquet faithfully represents the style of the estate.
Palate
On the palate, the wine has a beautiful juicy texture revealing the crispness of the fruit, while the chewiness of the tannic structure provides structure and body, balanced by the brilliant acidity of the tannins. The end stretches into a finish full of freshness. The excellence of a great Pauillac wine, classic and timeless.
