Château Haut-Marbuzet is a cru bourgeois produced in the Saint-Estèphe appellation. The vineyard covers an area of 66 hectares and is made up of 50% Cabernet Franc, 40% Merlot, 5% Cabernet Franc and 5% Petit Verdot. The vineyards, aged 30 years on average, are planted on Günzien gravel and a subsoil of clay-limestone. Château Haut-Marbuzet is aged in new oak barrels.
At tasting, the Château Haut-Marbuzet 2016 reveals aromas of red fruits mixed with kirsch notes and cream of blackcurrant. On the palate one can observe a crisp acidity, with delicious fruity (ripe), toasted (tobacco) and peppery notes. This Saint-Estèphe is balanced, fine and powerful at the same time, to be consumed 2026-2031.
