The Elegance of a Great Saint-Estèphe Terroir at Château Lilian Ladouys
The estate
Located in the renowned Bordeaux region, Château Lilian Ladouys can trace its earliest historical records back to 1654. This 80-hectare estate has established itself as a benchmark in its appellation, crowned with Cru Bourgeois Exceptionnel status in 2020. Today, Château Lilian Ladouys is passionately run by Jacky and Françoise Lorenzetti, now joined by their daughter Manon. Committed to environmentally friendly viticulture, the estate was officially certified organic in 2024, reflecting its determination to combine quality, accessibility and respect for nature.
The vineyard
Rooted in the Saint-Estèphe appellation, the vineyard comprises 48 hectares of producing vines divided into 90 plots. The vines, aged between 25 and 45 years, thrive on a mosaic of soils made up of 80% gravel (Peyrosols), which ensures excellent drainage, and 20% clay-limestone bedrock, which promotes water retention and mineral complexity. The entire vineyard is farmed according to the demanding principles of organic agriculture.
The vintage
2025 produced a well-balanced vintage, marked by lovely freshness and perfectly controlled water stress. These weather conditions allowed for very precise ripening, yielding small but highly concentrated berries. The harvest ran from 9 to 22 September for the Merlot, from 12 to 23 September for the Cabernet Sauvignon, from 17 to 22 September for the Cabernet Franc, and from 19 to 22 September for the Petit Verdot. Alcohol: 12.46% vol.
Vinification and ageing
Aged in new oak (30%) and amphorae (5%).
Grape varieties
This wine is a blend of 61% Merlot, 30% Cabernet Sauvignon and 9% Petit Verdot.
