2005 5e Cru Classe from Pauillac

The Chateau Pontet-Canet terroir is composed of gravels from Garonne river on limestone bedrock. As for other Pauillac wines, the soil is thin, warm and filtering. 
The 2005 5e Cru Classe Chateau Pontet-Canet reveals a really deep colour and a nose that gradually gives off cherry, blackcurrant and redcurrant notes as well as vanilla, liquorice and cedar hints. On the palate, the attack is full-bodied and the tannins are elegant. The 2005 Chateau Pontet-Canet finish carries an exceptional length in this remarkable vintage.
