Description

A limited-edition case bringing together five major chapters of Rauzan-Ségla

The estate

Founded in 1661 by Pierre Desmezures de Rauzan, Château Rauzan-Ségla is an emblematic Bordeaux estate located in Margaux. Spanning 66 hectares, the vineyard lies on fine gravel and clay-limestone soils. Since 1994, the property has belonged to the Wertheimer family (Chanel), led by Alain Wertheimer. Classified Second Growth in 1855, Château Rauzan-Ségla is one of the most prestigious references of the Margaux appellation.

The vineyard

The vineyard of Château Rauzan-Ségla benefits from an exceptional terroir in Margaux, characterized by fine gravel and clay-limestone soils that impart the wines with their hallmark elegance.

The case

The year 2025 marks 30 years of a close bond between two illustrious estates—Château Canon (Saint-Émilion) and Château Rauzan-Ségla (Margaux)—and Maison Chanel. Produced for the occasion in an exclusive limited edition, two complementary cases echo one another to reveal both the complementarity of these estates and their intrinsic essence.

Adorned with a camellia in homage to Maison Chanel and crafted from noble materials, each case contains 5 landmark vintages in the estate’s history, accompanied by an introductory booklet. Each brings together a vertical of emblematic vintages—four bottles and one magnum—witnesses to time and a rare savoir-faire. A tribute to thirty years of ties woven with Chanel, these cases are designed to be collected as a pair and then kept, once the wines have been enjoyed, as exceptional objects. Sobriety, elegance, preciousness: an invitation to savor timelessness.

Château Rauzan Ségla 1988 - The Revealer: under the aegis of Emile Peynaud, Rauzan-Ségla asserts its identity. A great wine of the decade, a matrix of excellence and a legacy embraced by Maison Chanel. (74% Cabernet Sauvignon and 26% Merlot)

Château Rauzan Ségla 1998 - The Renewal: four years after Chanel’s arrival, a first vintage signals the relaunch; the trajectory sharpens, momentum takes hold. (59% Cabernet Sauvignon and 41% Merlot)

Château Rauzan Ségla 2009 (Magnum) - The Sealed Exception: an iconic bottle from a great year, adorned with a label designed by Karl Lagerfeld, then artistic director of Maison Chanel. (58% Cabernet Sauvignon and 42% Merlot)

Château Rauzan Ségla 2005 - The Legend at Rest: a mythical Bordeaux vintage, built for time; patience sculpts its grandeur. (54% Cabernet Sauvignon, 39% Merlot, 5% Petit Verdot and 2% Cabernet Franc)

Château Rauzan Ségla 2015 - The New Chapter: the first vintage by Nicolas Audebert, with heightened precision; the fabric of Rauzan-Ségla, once again, fully revealed. (63% Cabernet Sauvignon, 33% Merlot, 3% Petit Verdot and 1% Cabernet Franc)
