Description
The Refinement of a Haut-Médoc Red Wine by Sénéjac
The estate
The first vines were planted at Château Sénéjac in the 16th century. Owned by the Bignon-Cordier family since 1999, this estate is a highly respected benchmark of the Haut-Médoc appellation.
The vineyard
A true green haven for biodiversity, the Château Sénéjac vineyard covers 39 hectares. The vines, which average 35 years of age, are planted on Pyrenean gravel soils deposited during the Quaternary period on the clay-gravel ridge of Le Pian-Médoc. These gravel soils provide efficient drainage and help regulate the water stress experienced by the vines when water reserves run low.
Ageing
The wine is aged for 15 months in barrels, 30% of which are new.
Blend
Château Sénéjac 2020 is a blend of Cabernet Sauvignon (54%), Merlot (34%), Cabernet Franc (6%) and Petit Verdot (6%).
