The power and refinement of a Margaux red wine

The estate

Owned by the Miailhe family for over 160 years, Château Siran is one of the emblematic references in the Margaux appellation. Château Siran was already renowned for the quality of its wines in the 18th century.

The vineyard

Château Siran 2021 is a Margaux wine that stems from a 25-hectare vineyard which is superbly situated on gravel and pebble soils. The vines are 37 years old on average and are planted on outcroppings of old alluvial soils, covered with fine clayey gravel. The vineyard is managed using sustainable viticultural practices and without chemical herbicides.

The vintage

A delicate vintage for Bordeaux vineyards, Château Siran 2017 will certainly be remembered. Regarded as the estate’s finest vintage ending in -7 since the Dantesque 1947, Château Siran 2017 presents the finesse and the personality that make for the very finest Margaux wines.

Wine Advocate-Parker :
Medium to deep garnet-purple in color, the 2017 Siran features pure cassis, crushed black plums and black cherries with hints of black olives, lavender and fragrant earth. The palate is medium-bodied, firm and grainy with a muscular core and good length.
