Description
The complexity and richness of a Corsican white wine
The estate
Founded in 1993, Domaine Clos Canarelli has become a veritable emblem of the wines of Corse-du-Sud. The estate's founder, Yves Canarelli, is a true enthusiast, who reveals with conviction the full grandeur of the terroirs of the Isle of Beauty. Discovering the identity of the Clos Canarelli estate means above all exploring vintages with an original style and character: whites, reds and rosés are made biodynamically with precision and respect for the Figari terroir. Yves Canarelli devises and blends exceptional, unconventional cuvées that are resolutely driven by "l'anima corsa," which means "the Corsican soul."
The vineyard
Clos Canarelli blanc 2022 is a Corsican wine, more precisely from the Figari region. It comes from a vineyard placed on clay-granitic soils and benefits from a southern and north-western exposure. The terroir is managed entirely by hand, without the use of chemicals. The estate has been certified organic since 2002 and biodynamic since 2006.
Winemaking and ageing
Harvested by hand and sorted on a table, the whole bunches are pressed. Fermentation takes place under the influence of indigenous yeasts and the wine is aged in tuns for 6 to 8 months with stirring of the lees.
