Expressive fruit, violet, raspberries, cassis, a perfume. On the palate already approachable, delicate fruit, precise tannins, incredibly fresh and crisp. A hit from now on.

Delivers good tight focus, with racy minerality in the form of a mouthwatering chalky thread, which ripples underneath a core of black cherry and tobacco. Reveals a sanguine accent on the finish. Merlot, Cabernet Franc and Cabernet Sauvignon. Drink now through 2029. 1,491 cases made, 50 cases imported.

The 2021 Clos Puy Arnaud offers blackberry and bilberry fruit on the compact nose, just missing a bit of bandwidth. The palate is clean, with sappy black fruit and good density and weight in the mouth. It’s not a complex wine, but there is a harmonious white pepper finish that has commendable rondeur.

Flowers, wet earth, thyme and black raspberries come through on the nose. The wine is medium-bodied, crisp and juicy, finishing with a savory mouthful of bright red berries. Drink from 2024-2033.

Dark ruby core, purple reflections, broad bright rim. Fresh red wild berries on the nose with a touch of cherries and hints of blackberries, liquorice and tangerine zest. Juicy palate with elegant fruit sweetness, finely woven acidity and concentrated red cherries. Great with food.

The 2021 Clos Puy Arnaud is tight and focused, with the vintage’s more linear, focused style as well as attractive aromatics of red and black fruits, darker herbs, and cedar. It’s medium-bodied, has bright acidity, and good concentration. Give it a few years and enjoy through 2031.

Bright plum fruits, greengages and raspberry with touches of mandarin rind. A great example of what you can find in the vintage when it succeeds – this is not exuberant, but it turns its sappy, lithe character into a positive, with concentration through the mid-palate. Austere, it needs to round out with ageing, but there is character and balance.

The 2021 Clos Puy Arnaud is medium to deep garnet-purple in color. Notes of stewed plums, boysenberry preserves, and dried herbs hop from the glass, followed by a waft of dried lavender. The medium-bodied palate is vibrant, pure, and energetic, with fine-grained tannins and a savory finish. This is impressive.

The inviting character of violets and the freshness of the garrigue, complemented by licorice (zan), underscore the relevance and aromatic complexity of Clos Puy Arnaud. Supported by well-integrated tannins, the wine shows good density and an acidity that ensures freshness and verve. A subtle, persistent wine that deserves a little cellaring.

Bright, intense red color. Moderately aromatic, fruity nose. The palate starts off fruity but lacks breadth mid-palate. It finishes simple and lively.

Bright dark purple core and hue. Pure and fragrant displaying wet chalk, wild berries, cassis and violet notes with mild oak. The palate shows a fine density with a bright acidity underneath, sweet dark berry flavours, cassis and liquorice, no noticeable oak, well built with a grainy texture, supple tannin and a long lingering finish.
