The mineral purity of a great Spanish white wine from Valdeorras
The estate
Founded in 2002 in the village of Éntoma in Galicia, the winery was built on respect for local traditions and its terroir. Since 2018, the estate has been owned by the renowned Spanish wine group CVNE - Virgen del Galir. This integration brings international expertise while preserving its artisanal identity. Today, the technical team produces authentic cuvées across around forty hectares, illustrating the qualitative revival of this historic region.
The vineyard
The grapes come from the Regueirón site, located in the southern part of the Valdeorras appellation. This high-altitude terroir, rising above 600 meters, is characterized by steep slopes arranged in terraces. The vines thrive on complex soils composed of clay, silt, and slate schist, giving the berries a marked Atlantic character and great freshness.
The vintage
The year 2024 stands out for particularly cool weather conditions, marking a break after two years of drought. Considered the coldest harvest of the decade, the year offered mild days and icy nights. This climate allowed for slow and optimal ripening of the grapes, promoting excellent aromatic concentration while preserving bright natural acidity.
Winemaking and aging
The harvest is carried out manually in small refrigerated crates. After a forty-eight-hour cold maceration to extract aromas, the grapes are destemmed without crushing. Fermentation then begins using indigenous yeasts. Aging takes place over twelve months in French oak barrels, followed by two months of maturation in a large wooden vat, adding subtle complexity to the wine.
Grape variety
Godello (100%).
