Description
Characteristics and Tasting Notes for the "Réservée" 2024 from Domaine André Brunel
Tasting Notes
Appearance
The colour reveals a dark, deep hue with bluish-red highlights.
Nose
Complex and nuanced, the nose offers up rich aromas of red and black fruits such as cherry, wild raspberry, blackberry and plum. This fruity bouquet is enhanced by notes of herbes de Provence, black pepper and liquorice, along with subtle touches of black tea and bergamot.
Palate
The palate is elegant and fresh, supported by a structure of very fine tannins. The spicy, fruity nuances perceived on the nose reappear here, leading to a long, lingering finish.
Food and Wine Pairings
This red wine pairs wonderfully with full-flavoured meats such as beef, lamb or game, whether grilled, roasted or braised. It will also complement flavourful Mediterranean dishes beautifully.
Serving and Cellaring
For an optimal tasting experience, it is recommended to serve the "Réservée" 2024 cuvée at a temperature of around 18°C. This wine can be enjoyed now or cellared until approximately 2034.
The Elegance and Complexity of a Châteauneuf-du-Pape Wine
The Estate
The Brunel family's history in the Rhône Valley dates back to the 18th century, but it was in 1954 that the Les Cailloux brand was officially established. Located in France, Domaine André Brunel has established itself as a benchmark estate thanks to its pioneering approach to sustainable viticulture. Today, Fabrice Brunel leads the estate, carrying on his father's legacy. The domaine champions elegance and freshness, producing wines that faithfully reflect the richness of their terroirs while scrupulously respecting the environment.
The Vineyard
The grapes used for this cuvée come from the Châteauneuf-du-Pape appellation. The vines flourish across a mosaic of emblematic terroirs made up of rolled pebbles, sand, clay and limestone. The selected grower partners share the estate's agronomic philosophy, favouring soil-friendly farming practices, with no use of herbicides or pesticides, mechanical tilling of the soil and natural cover cropping.
Winemaking and Ageing
The "Réservée" 2024 cuvée is crafted from carefully selected grapes as part of a well-managed négociant activity. Winemaking and ageing take place exclusively in concrete and stainless steel tanks, with no time spent in oak barrels, in order to preserve the purity of the fruit. Finally, the wine is bottled without prior filtration.
Grape Varieties
This blend is composed of Grenache, Syrah and Mourvèdre.
