Description
The balance and structure of a Piedmont wine
The estate
Domenico Clerico is an Italian wine estate that is now a major name among the great wines of Piedmont. Founded in 1977, when Domenico acquired a plot of land in Bussia, a vineyard located in the municipality of Monforte d'Alba, the estate’s first vintage was in 1979.
Domenico Clerico now oversees a 21-hectare vineyard in the Barolo appellation in Piedmont, northern Italy. Following Domenico’s death in 2017, it was taken over by Oscar Arrivabene and Giulana Clerico, now at the helm of the estate, each of whose vintages impress with their precision and aromatic expression.
The vineyard
Produced since 2009, this Capisme-e 2020 wine by Domenico Clerico is a Langhe wine from a 3-hectare vineyard.
Winemaking and ageing
Following the harvest, the grapes underwent maceration in the skins, accompanied by delicate extractions to preserve the integrity of the fruit and its fruity aromas. The wine was aged in steel vats and amphorae.
Blend
Capisme-e 2020 from Domenico Clerico is 100% Nebbiolo.
