The estate

Les Vins d'Emmanuelle is a selection and négociant house in the Loire, based in Sancerre and founded in 2017 by Emmanuelle Mellot. As founder and director, she still leads it today. She previously spent seventeen years at Domaine Alphonse Mellot. The House focuses on the vineyards of the Central Loire (Sancerre, Pouilly-Fumé, Menetou-Salon, Reuilly, Quincy) and adds a sparkling wine from Vouvray. It offers "made-to-measure" wines. Emmanuelle Mellot also designs the labels, in collaboration with typographers and illustrators.

The vineyard

This Pouilly-Fumé comes from an appellation in the Central Loire, located opposite Sancerre, on the other side of the river. Around Pouilly-sur-Loire, its terroirs traditionally combine Kimmeridgian marls, limestone and flint. They are renowned for imparting a mineral tension to Sauvignon Blanc.

100% Sauvignon Blanc, the only grape variety permitted in the Pouilly-Fumé appellation.
