Description
Tasting notes and characteristics of the Mâcon-Villages "Grange Magnien" 2024 by Louis Jadot
Tasting
Appearance
The wine reveals a beautiful straw-yellow hue, bright and clear, adorned with subtle golden highlights.
Nose
Fresh and expressive, the nose releases delicate aromas of white flowers and white-fleshed fruits such as pear. The whole is underlined by lively notes of lemon and green apple, along with a subtle mineral touch.
Palate
The attack is lively and reveals a harmonious palate with a light, fluid structure. Devoid of tannins, this wine offers lovely balance thanks to moderate acidity, extending the notes of citrus and crisp apple through to a clean, refreshing finish of medium length.
Food and wine pairings
This white wine pairs wonderfully with seafood, such as a fish carpaccio, scallops or shellfish. It also goes very well with white meats, fine charcuterie such as boudin blanc, as well as delicate cheeses like Beaufort or fresh goat cheese.

The estate
Founded in 1859 in the heart of Beaune, the Louis Jadot House is a true institution in Burgundy, France. Historically rooted in the region with a substantial estate vineyard certified High Environmental Value (HVE) level 3 since 2019, it now enjoys international renown. Although it has belonged to the American group Kobrand Fine Wine & Spirits since 1985, the estate retains strong family governance, ensured by the Gagey family. Executive leadership is currently held by its president, Thomas Seiter, who perpetuates the excellence of Burgundy's terroirs.
The vineyard
Located in the southern part of Burgundy, at the gateway to Beaujolais, the vineyard of the Mâcon-Villages appellation extends over approximately 2,500 hectares spread across 43 communes. The vines thrive under a slightly milder climate than that of the Côte d'Or, taking root in soils mainly composed of limestone and marl. This cuvée comes from the specific lieu-dit "Grange Magnien", reflecting the estate's desire to showcase a precise and qualitative terroir within this vast appellation.
Vinification and ageing
In order to preserve all the purity of the fruit and the natural freshness of the grape variety, the fermentation and ageing of the Mâcon-Villages "Grange Magnien" 2024 are carried out entirely in stainless steel tanks. The complete absence of oak barrel ageing avoids any oxidation or woody aromas, thus guaranteeing a clean, modern and vibrant profile.
