Description
Characteristics and tasting notes for Pinot Blanc 2022 Maison Trimbach
Tasting notes
Colour
The colour reveals a delicate pale yellow hue, enhanced by subtle green highlights.
Nose
The aromatic bouquet opens with concentrated notes of white flowers and apricot, complemented by touches of ripe pear and yellow apple. Subtle nuances of honeysuckle, almond and Emmental cheese enrich the whole, underscored by a lovely chalky minerality and a hint of fresh lemon.
Palate
With a medium body and a particularly smooth texture, the palate seduces with its remarkable balance. It unfolds citrus and pear flavours, carried by a lively, refreshing acidity. The long, dynamic finish offers a striking contrast between the minerality of the terroir and the brightness of the fresh fruit.
Food and wine pairing
This white wine pairs wonderfully with seafood, oysters or light fish such as grilled trout. It also goes very well with cold poultry, composed salads, light fried dishes such as tempura, as well as fresh cheeses. However, it is not recommended to pair it with red meats or highly spiced dishes.
Additional characteristics
This Pinot Blanc 2022 is made from certified organic grapes. It has an alcohol content of 13% and has been praised by critics, notably earning a score of 91 points from both James Suckling and Wine Enthusiast.
The vivacity and balance of a white wine from Alsace by Maison Trimbach
The estate
Founded in 1626, Maison Trimbach is a true institution located in Ribeauvillé, at the heart of Alsace. With four centuries of history behind it, this family-run estate is today led by the twelfth and thirteenth generations. Following the tragic passing of Pierre Trimbach in 2026, his nephew Julien has taken over technical direction, supported by Jean, Anne, Frédérique and Pauline. Renowned for its dry, precise wines tailored for fine dining, the estate was crowned "Brand of the Year" in 2025. An essential reference that continues a tradition of excellence.
The vineyard
The estate's vineyard extends across the sub-Vosgian foothills in Alsace, benefiting from a semi-continental climate ideally protected from rainfall. The vines, averaging 45 years of age, thrive on a complex geological mosaic combining limestone, marl and sandstone. Committed to a strong environmental approach, the estate has been certified organic since 2023. Biodiversity is encouraged through tree planting, the installation of birdhouses and winter eco-grazing by sheep.
Winemaking and ageing
For this Pinot Blanc 2022, the grapes undergo a gentle pneumatic pressing. The juices are then vinified to become perfectly dry, in stainless steel and concrete tanks under controlled temperatures. To preserve the brightness of the fruit and the wine's natural vivacity, no malolactic fermentation is carried out.
