Description
A Pavillon rouge 2016, a second wine combining power and tenderness
This second wine of Château Margaux, resulting from a strict selection (26% of the harvest), has improved in precision and quality thanks to a constant search for the best lots. The Pavillon rouge 2016 incorporates 84% Cabernet Sauvignon, 13% Merlot and 3% Petit Verdot.
The Pavillon Rouge, aged in 50 to 60% expresses floral notes, then flesh black fruits. Stirring reveals some graphite notes. The nose is very fresh. The palate is tender with a refreshing juice on very straight tannins (due to the high proportion of Cabernet Sauvignon in the blend), but very civilized nonetheless. The palate ends on a saline note and the wine on a whole has a real weight and a very pleasant balance. The wine has gained volume in this vintage.
