Description
A full-bodied and expressive Australian white wine
The estate
Founded in 1844 by Dr Christopher Rawson Penfold and his wife Mary in South Australia, Penfolds now spans several Australian regions including South Australia, Western Australia, New South Wales and Victoria. Owned by Treasury Wine Estates, the estate is led by an expert technical team, with Peter Gago as Chief Winemaker since 2002. Penfolds distinguishes itself through its iconic cuvées such as Grange and Bin 707.
The vineyard
This Reserve Bin A is sourced exclusively from vineyards in Adelaide Hills, a region renowned for its cool climate conditions and high-altitude terroirs. This wine-growing area enjoys a temperate climate that allows for slow and gradual ripening of the grapes, fostering the development of complex aromas and preserved natural acidity.
Winemaking and ageing
This cuvée benefits from manual harvesting and ageing in oak barrels for 9 months.
Grape variety
100% Chardonnay.
