With its bright, sunlit antique-gold hue, this rum reveals thick, voluptuous legs that speak to its richness and generous character.

Nose
The aromatic bouquet reveals remarkable complexity, with notes of chocolate-dipped candied orange peel where cocoa shows with intensity. Added to this are aromas of candied exotic fruits, grapefruit, and buttery touches that enrich the whole.

Palate
The attack is both smooth and powerful, beginning with an enveloping sweetness that builds in a crescendo toward exceptional intensity. Ginger, cocoa, and precious woods unfold in perfect harmony, offering a remarkable finish.

Food pairings and tasting moments

This sipping rum is best enjoyed at room temperature in a tulip-shaped stemmed glass. It pairs beautifully with foie gras, game such as lièvre à la Royale, Brillat-Savarin cheese, or chocolate desserts.

Chantal Comte, pioneer of independent rum bottling

Founded in 1983, Chantal Comte remains the first woman in the world to practice the profession of independent rum bottler, pioneering a role that did not yet exist in this universe. Owner and director of her house based in Nîmes, she rigorously selects agricole rums from Martinique and Guadeloupe, notably from the Depaz and La Mauny distilleries. With thirty-five years as a winegrower at Château de la Tuilerie in the Rhône Valley, she brings the same quality-driven standards to rum. Her cask-strength bottlings, brought together in the La Tour de l'Or collection, embody absolute authenticity. Part of the profits supports Caribaea, an association that trains young Caribbean scientists in biodiversity, reflecting a remarkable humanist commitment.

L'Or des Caraïbes, an agricole rum made from pure juice of freshly crushed sugarcane

From the Bellevue distillery in Marie-Galante, L'Or des Caraïbes Vieille Réserve is an exceptional cuvée from lot 7/18, carefully selected by Chantal Comte in the Chais Saint Eloi 88. The aging of this rum took place in five distinct 230-liter casks from Maison Seguin-Moreau, in a continental environment. This limited edition, bottled in October 2023, was packaged in magnificent screen-printed bottles. The talent of this selection was recognized by numerous awards in 2024: Grand Gold Medal at the Concours Catavinum World Wine & Spirits Competition, Gold Medal at the Concours International de Lyon, Silver Medal at the London Spirits Competition, Bronze Medal at the Rhum Fest Awards, and Grand Gold Medal at the International Wine & Spirits Awards. Part of the profits from each bottle sold supports the Caribaea Initiative association, which trains young Caribbean naturalists.
