Hatozaki, a whisky from the prestigious Kaikyo distillery

Originally dedicated to sake production, the Kaikyo distillery, located in Akashi, has been crafting superb whiskies under the Hatozaki brand since the 20th century. The name pays tribute to Japan's oldest lighthouse, built in 1620.

An exceptional location

Benefiting from the sea breezes of the strait, the distillery enjoys a unique climate, with dry, mild winters and hot, humid summers: ideal conditions for ageing spirits. Its diverse cellar houses casks made of American oak, Japanese mizunara and cherry wood.

The beauty of blending

This Pure Malt is an exclusive blend of 100% malt whiskies, aged for 5 to 6 years in bourbon and sherry casks, as well as in casks made of mizunara, an iconic Japanese oak. Bottled without added colouring or chill filtration.
