Description

Characteristics and tasting notes of the Golden Gin Premier Cru by Palmarae

Tasting

Appearance

A rich, unabashed golden hue, unusual for the category, testifying to its genuine maturation in oak barrels. Its visual texture hints at a beautiful smoothness and remarkable softness.

Nose

Rich, delicate and complex. The bouquet opens with the indulgent sweetness of dried dates and the luminous floral character of orange blossom, refreshed by the vibrant green note of Moroccan mint. Citrus notes, dominated by mandarin, and warm, finely oaked vanilla complete this olfactory landscape, supported by an elegant and discreet juniper.

Palate

The attack is soft and fruity, carried by the enveloping roundness of Medjool dates. The mid-palate reveals a perfect balance between floral elegance, the liveliness of mandarin and the herbaceous freshness of mint. The whole evolves towards a woody, vanilla warmth, offering a particularly smooth and silky texture, without any alcoholic aggressiveness despite its 44%. The finish is long and memorable, marked by candied dates, citrus, woody touches and a delicate hint of mineral salinity.

Pairings and tasting occasions

Conceived as a truly contemplative work, this spirit is ideally enjoyed neat, possibly over an ice block, in a tulip or tasting glass. It is particularly appreciated during the "Golden Hour", that transitional moment at the end of the day, as a contemplative aperitif or a digestif. Although no strict gastronomic pairing is formalised, its notes call for combinations with Mediterranean flavours, red fruits, citrus or dried fruits.

Mixology

Although it shines when tasted neat, this gin also stands out magnificently in premium mixology. The brand's signature cocktail, the "Golden Hour", pairs it with dry vermouth, triple sec, orange bitters and orange blossom water. It also brilliantly revisits the classics, such as the Pink Negroni, or fits into sophisticated creations playing on notes of figs, almond, spices such as ras el hanout, or fleur de sel.

Other characteristics

This gin has an alcohol content of 44% and comes in a luxurious 70 cl bottle. It was awarded the supreme "Master" distinction at the prestigious Gin Masters 2024.

A Moroccan-inspired gin, cask-aged and of remarkable aromatic complexity

Palmarae: The spirit of the oasis and the elegance of Moroccan-inspired Gin

Recently founded and brought into the spotlight by a Master distinction at the Gin Masters 2024, the Palmarae brand embodies the concept of the "Spirit of the Oasis". Conceived in Marrakech, it draws its identity from the landscapes, light and fragrances of North Africa. While this Moroccan-inspired gin celebrates the imagery of the palm grove and the "Golden Hour", its production facility is located in France, in the prestigious Cognac region, thus combining North African terroir with French technical excellence. The brand cultivates an ultra-premium and mysterious image; indeed, the identity of its founders or current owner is not publicly disclosed, the company preferring to highlight its sensory and geographical narrative rather than an individual figure. Palmarae is now establishing itself in luxury distribution channels worldwide.

The singular craftsmanship of the Golden Gin Premier Cru NM

The Golden Gin Premier Cru stands out radically for its approach inspired by oenological traditions, justifying the use of the "Premier Cru" designation. This spirit relies on a meticulous selection of botanicals emblematic of the Moroccan terroir, sourced from artisanal producers: ripe Medjool dates, orange blossom, mandarin, fresh Moroccan mint and fleur de sel harvested in the Marrakech region and the Atlas Mountains, all built around the essential juniper.

Its production method combines advanced technology and tradition. Distillation is carried out in two stages: a vacuum distillation at low temperature to preserve the integrity and delicacy of the most fragile aromas such as orange blossom and mint, combined with a traditional distillation in copper stills, typical of Cognac know-how, which brings roundness and structure to the distillate.

The ultimate and most distinctive stage of this Golden Gin Premier Cru lies in its genuine maturation in oak barrels. This ageing transforms the texture of the spirit, giving it its characteristic golden hue and enriching it with woody and vanilla notes. Presented in a luxuriously designed bottle, this ultra-premium French gin breaks free from classic codes to offer a tasting experience of rare sophistication.
