The deep, shiny ruby hued 2013 Cornas Coteaux from Domaine Tardieux-Laurent is an exceptional vintage with low yield. The nose shows assimilated old Syrah vines with wild blackberries, cherry, toasted notes, as well as sous-bois and Chinese ink. To the palate, 2013 Cornas Coteaux is juicy and dense, with a hint of severity due to its young age. This Cornas will fully mature in a few years.
Wine Advocate-Parker :
Showing much better from bottle than barrel, the 2013 Cornas Cuvee Coteaux has the classic, slightly feral quality that is the hallmark of this hot amphitheater with steep granite slopes, located in southern part of the Northern Rhône Valley. Olive, saddle leather, garrigue, black cherries and peppery herbs all emerge from this medium-bodied, solid, balanced and lengthy Cornas that has tons of character. Drink it anytime over the coming decade or more.
