Located on the foothills of Europe's highest volcano, Tasca Conti d'Almerita - Tenuta Tascante draws its distinctiveness from its terroir, whose volcanic soil contributes to the unique signature of these Etna wines.

The vineyard

This wine from Etna is crafted from vineyards located at 740 meters above sea level on the northern slopes of the famous volcano. Located between Passopisciaro and Randazzo, this terraced terroir of 4.28 hectares, planted in 2000, rests on volcanic formations dating from 4,000 to 15,000 years old.

The vintage

2020 in Sicily was characterized by a dry, warm spring followed by a cool, rainy summer. Harvest took place between October 14 and 30.

Winemaking and aging

This wine is fermented in stainless steel tanks and aged 90% in 25-hectoliter Slavonian oak barrels, and 10% in 300-liter French oak barrels.
