Blagny is an appellation located in Burgundy and extending over a little more than 3 hectares in the communes of Meursault and Puligny-Montrachet. 7 climats of Blagny are classified Premier Cru. Planted exclusively in Pinot Noir, the vines are planted on a hillside made up of marls and covered with calcareous scree. The bottom of the slope is characterised by clay-limestone soils, while the top is marked by brown calcareous soils. The red wines of Blagny are well-structured and require time to age in order for the tannins to soften and melt.
