Blason d'Issan 2019

Heady, sensual and seductive, with a great nose of perfumed fruit. Smooth texture, great weight – it's a little lighter framed than the nose suggests. Less structure – the juice is quite light and fresh – an airy style with soft tannins and freshness on the finish. Balanced, if not showing a great deal.

Blackcurrant, sandalwood and rose-petal aromas follow through to a medium body with very fine tannins and a fresh, pretty finish. Second wine. Better after 2024.

Dark ruby garnet, opaque core, purple reflections, delicate edge brightening. Delicately leafy blackberry notes, fresh precious wood, a hint of liquorice. Medium complexity, red berry texture, vivid tannins, mineral on the finish, salty and lemony aftertaste.

The 2019 Blason d’Issan is a solid second wine, offering ripe, chocolaty black cherry and darker currant fruits, nicely integrated oak, notes of cedary spice and tobacco, and a good finish. It’s a mouth-filling, balanced, undeniably delicious second wine to drink over the coming decade.

Reserved on the nose with good depth to the berry fruits. The tannins are angular at this point, but with time it opens to show blackberry and vanilla cream, with a smoked cedar edge. 35% new oak, 55% of production.

A very complex nose for a second wine that teases the senses, with a deep musky fragrance of rich flowers, damson plums, and lightly roasted notes.

When charm, fruit and freshness come together, the bouquet is simply inviting! The palate lives up to the aromatic promise; the wine is creamy, indulgent, balanced and perfectly supported by its tannins. A sapid, fresh and very serene Blason! What a great success.

The nose is fruity, offering a touch of fleshiness, a hint of richness, and elegance. It reveals notes of crushed strawberry, creamy blackcurrant, and, more subtly, cornflower, along with small touches of crushed red berries, fine hints of vanilla, as well as a subtle hint of fresh pepper and licorice. The palate is fruity and offers juiciness, a lovely tangy backbone, good definition, precision, a certain tension, energy, a pleasing fruit-driven tartness, and finesse in its tannic frame. On the palate, this wine expresses notes of pulpy/tangy blackcurrant, tangy raspberry, and, more slightly, juicy/tangy small berries, combined with a touch of cherry, a hint of violet and vanilla, and a subtle toasted note. The tannins are supple and suave. Subtle hints of cocoa on the finish/persistence.

Logo on the capsule: LA Beautiful deep dark red, purple. Very aromatic nose, fruity and subtle. This aromatic character is what makes this wine so charming on the palate. The body is silky and very juicy. The wine develops delicately, flavorful, for now slightly marked by oak. But it will fade in three years.

Deep garnet-purple in color, the 2019 Le Blason d'Issan offers up crème de cassis, baked plum, and tapenade scents with hints of chargrill, tobacco, and balsamic. Medium-bodied with soft acidity and plush tannins, it has bags of juicy fruit and a spicy finish.
