Description
The velvety intensity of a great vintage from Ribera del Duero
The emblematic Protos Reserva from the Bodega Protos embodies all the authenticity of its birthplace, the Ribera del Duero region located in the province of Castille-Léon in Spain.
The Protos Reserva is a symbol of wine traditions that represent the Ribera del Duero. It is a single-varietal wine made from the acclaimed "Tinto Fino", which is the Tempranillo variety. From the vineyard to the winery, the greatest care has been taken in developing this signature cuvée from Bodegas Protos. To qualify for the "Reserva" designation, Protos Reserva 2011 was matured in oak barrels over a period of 18 months and then 24 months in bottle before being put on the market.
The Protos Reserva 2011 offers a gleaming cherry colour. It reveals a charming bouquet of black fruit that also exhudes smoky notes from ageing. In a wave of tasty sensations, the vintage unveils all its personality with an ample and velvety structure. The careful attention paid to oak ageing has given a perfect expression of the fruit. The wine unfolds to give an aromatic, persistent finish, which is the signature of Bodegas Protos.
