Description

A Saint-Emilion Premier Grand Cru Classé with a seductive balance and aromatic expression

The estate

Château Beauséjour Héritiers Duffau-Lagarrosse has been recognised since the beginning of the Saint-Émilion classification. A family-owned property since 1847, this Premier Grand Cru Classé from this illustrious appellation, located on the right bank of Bordeaux, was acquired in April 2021 by the Courtin-Clarins family associated with Joséphine Duffau-Lagarosse.

The vineyard

This utter gem reigns over a 6.8-hectare terroir, of which close to 6.3 hectares are used for production. The 40-year-old vines are planted in a mosaic of terroirs, formed of clay-limestone soils on limestone, which give rise to fine Saint-Emilion wines. Rooted on the hillside of the medieval city, the vineyard is managed according to traditional methods and most often cultivated manually.

Vinification and ageing

Aged for 12 to 14 months in barrels (of which 58% are new).

The blend

Château Beauséjour Héritiers Duffau-Lagarrosse 2021 comprises a blend of Merlot (73%) and Cabernet Franc (27%).
