Description
The structure and aromatic finesse of a Saint-Émilion Grand Cru by Château Brun
The estate
Château Brun dates back to the 16th century. Since then, the property has been passed down over the generations, thus ensuring the safe transmission of traditional know-how in its purest form. It is thanks to this centuries-old transmission that the estate produces its fantastic Bordeaux wine in the Saint-Émilion appellation.
The vineyard
On the slopes of a hill to the north-west of Saint-Émilion, the 10.95 hectare vineyard of Château Brun benefits from a clay-limestone terroir facing south. The vines, 30 years old on average, are planted in one piece and managed in the traditional way. The Château Brun grape variety is made up of Merlot (90%) and Cabernet Franc (7%).
The vinification and ageing
Harvested manually and then sorted, the grapes are destemmed and vinified in thermo-regulated concrete vats. 18 to 20 days vatting. Racking. Ageing lasts 18 months in barrels.
