Description
A white wine from the Rhône Valley combining liveliness and refinement
The estate
Founded in the 16th century, Château de Beaucastel was taken over at the beginning of the 20th century by Pierre Tramier. While his son-in-law, Pierre Perrin, ushered in a new era for the estate, its significant reputation was carried beyond borders thanks to Jacques Perrin. The sons and grandsons of Jacques Perrin continue to this day the pursuit of excellence of this family-run estate, which ranks among the finest labels of Rhône Valley wines.
The vineyard
Château de Beaucastel oversees a 110-hectare single-plot vineyard to the north of the Châteauneuf-du-Pape appellation. Farmed organically since the 1960s, the vines are planted on soils composed of surface pebbles with clay, sand, and limestone deeper down.
Winemaking and aging
Hand harvesting is followed by a meticulous selection of the bunches. The grapes are then picked into small crates for pneumatic pressing. After settling, fermentation takes place partially in oak barrels and stainless-steel tanks. The aging of this Côtes du Rhône wine continues over a period of eight months.
Blend
This Coudoulet de Beaucastel 2024 from Château de Beaucastel is a blend of Marsanne, Bourboulenc, Viognier, and Clairette.
