The 2014 Mercurey Village from Château de Chamirey was produced from a Chardonnayvineyard growing on a calcareous-clay soil with limestone predominance. The white wines are known for their freshness and white flower notes; alcoholic fermentation is used to create the wine which is then partially aged in oak barrels. The golden green colour is bright. Bergamot, lime notes and more mineral fragrances blend with floral accents. The palate is rather precise with a tangy and fresh sensation. Really refreshing, this Mercurey Village is an excellent introduction to the complexity of the other Burgundy white wines on the Côte Chalonnaise, offered by the property.
