A red wine from the Lalande de Pomerol appellation, Château La Fleur de Boüard comes from a 33-hectare vineyard. The vines have an average age of 25 years, and are planted on clay-sand, gravel and clay-gravel soils. The blend consists of 85% Merlot, 12% Cabernet Franc and 3% Cabernet Sauvignon. The Château La Fleur de Boüard 2016 is aged in barrels over a period of 18 to 24 months with 75% to 80% of the wine aged in new barrels.
The Château La Fleur de Boüard 2016 develops generous fruity fragrances (black cherry, blackcurrant) mixed with subtle mineral notes (gunflint). On the palate, this medium-bodied wine has soft, supple tannins before it reveals delicious empyreumatic touches and dark fruit on the finish. This Fleur de Boüard 2016 is best to be consumed by 2032-2037.
