Château La Lagune 2014

Bordeaux - Haut-Medoc - Red - 13.5° Château La Lagune Château La Lagune 2014 1056/14
  • Parker : 92
  • J. Robinson : 16+

The harvests started on September 22nd (young plots of Merlot) and ended on October 13th, after wonderful Petit Verdot and sumptuous Cabernet Sauvignon were picked. The fermentations in vat-room already foreshadowed good promises (according to the must aromatic intensity and the first phenolic analysis). The 2014 La Lagune is a pleasant, pure, and very expressive Haut-Medoc on black fruits that carries a great freshness and olfactory depth. On the palate, the wine offers a full body (enjoyable and creamy tannins with a fine and lingering mouthfeel). One can appreciate the spicy character of the wine in retro-olfaction, until finish. This Château La Lagune has character and a good ageing potential.

Wine Advocate-Parker :
The 2014 La Lagune is a wine that showed extremely well when I tasted it from barrel. Now in bottle, it has a very well defined, quite intense bouquet with blackberry, cedar and pencil box aromasùclassic in style, demonstrating impressive breeding. The palate is very well balanced with fine tannin, bright and vivacious black fruit laced with graphite, fine mineralité and it fans out wonderfully on the Pauillac-like finish. You know, I suspect this might even surpass the 2015 La Lagune... let's see. This is excellent.
