Colour
The wine displays a deep garnet-red colour, with subtle violet highlights, a sign of its youth and concentration.

Nose
The nose entices with its intensity and aromatic complexity. From the moment it opens, it asserts the wine’s distinctive character with a profusion of ripe red and black fruits, enhanced by notes of liquorice. The whole is both expressive and elegant.

Palate
The attack is ample and fleshy, setting the tone for a generous and perfectly balanced palate. The texture is silky, without any rough edges, and the wine develops harmoniously to a savoury finish.

The estate
Immediate neighbour of the prestigious Château Haut-Brion, Château La Mission Haut-Brion has been an emblematic figure of the Bordeaux vineyards for several centuries. Founded in the 16th century by the Lestonnac family, the estate was later entrusted to the Congregation of the Lazarist Fathers. Today part of Domaine Clarence Dillon, under the impetus of Prince Robert of Luxembourg, it remains one of the essential benchmarks among the great crus of Bordeaux.

The vineyard
The vines of Château La Mission Haut-Brion extend across the communes of Talence and Pessac, on a terroir of deep gravel soils overlying a subsoil composed of clay, sand, limestone and faluns, a shelly limestone rock. This exceptional terroir allows the production of Pessac-Léognan wines of great complexity and remarkable ageing potential.

The vintage
The 2024 season was marked by a cool and wet climate, leading to early bud break followed by slowed vine growth. Disease pressure was high, requiring constant vigilance in the vineyards. Despite a late and uneven flowering, July provided good vegetative development thanks to milder conditions. Harvest began in early September with grapes in excellent sanitary condition, featuring expressive whites and concentrated reds. The teams’ precise work made it possible to select berries of great quality, heralding a promising vintage.

Winemaking and ageing
Ageing is conducted in barrels, 75% of which are new oak.

Blend
Cabernet Sauvignon (51%), Merlot (46.5%) and Cabernet Franc (2.5%).
