A Haut-Médoc wine showcasing an exceptional terroir
The estate
Founded in 1580, Château Larrivaux is a historic Bordeaux property spanning a 18.5-hectare vineyard. Its most distinctive feature lies in its exclusive transmission from mother to daughter since its creation, a unique heritage in the region. Today, Bérangère and Basile Tesseron are the current owners and run the estate with passion. This family hallmark is perpetuated through biodiversity-respectful management and an unwavering commitment to producing wines of great elegance.
The vineyard
Located within the Haut-Médoc appellation, the vineyard covers 18.5 hectares and benefits from a terroir composed of a thin layer of clay-sandy soil resting on a clay-limestone subsoil. The vines, around thirty years old, are planted at high density to promote the concentration of aromas. The yield amounts to 38 hl/ha. The estate fosters natural biodiversity to limit human intervention in the vines.
The vintage
The 2025 year was marked by record-breaking heat and significant water stress, leading to early ripening of the berries. Despite these extreme climatic conditions, the sanitary state and maturity of the grapes proved ideal. The harvest took place from September 13 to 18, 2025, yielding raw material of exceptional quality.
Vinification and aging
Vinifications take place in a new cellar. Alcoholic fermentation is carried out in concrete and stainless steel tanks. Aging then takes place with a proportion of 35% new barrels, under the supervision of technical director Christophe Barbeyron and consultants Eric Boissenot and Emilio De Longhi.
Grape varieties
53% Merlot, 21% Cabernet Sauvignon, 18% Cabernet Franc, 8% Petit Verdot.
