Chateau Leoville Barton 2012: a wine of great elegance from Saint-Julien

The 2nd Classified GrowthChateau Leoville Barton, is a red wine produced in the Saint-Julien appellation. The vineyard is planted on hillsides composed of gravel from the Garonne on a bed of gravel-clay limestone. The wine is aged in oak barrels (60% are new) for 16-18 months. Chateau Leoville Barton 2012 is a blend of 83% Cabernet Sauvignon, 15% Merlot and 2% Cabernet Franc.

Chateau Leoville Barton 2012 develops aromas of white flowers (acacias) with notes of candied violets. The wine has an unforgettably long finish in the mouth.

Wine Advocate-Parker :
Dense ruby/purple, with cassis licorice and forest floors notes in the aromatics, Léoville-Barton's 2012 is a relatively big, rich, masculine style of wine. This full-bodied wine needs 5-8 years of cellaring and should evolve easily for 25-30 years.
