Description
Château Moulinet showcases a fine Pomerol red wine, both aromatic and refined
The estate
Owned by the Moueix family, Château Moulinet is one of the oldest estates in the Pomerol appellation. Thanks to the work achieved by Nathalie and Marie-José Moueix, both in the vineyard and in the cellars, Château Moulinet is now one of the finest references in the appellation.
The vineyard
Running a 22-hectare estate, including 18 hectares of vines in a single block, Château Moulinet overlooks an exceptional vineyard which is one of the most prominent in Pomerol. The vines are planted on a clayey gravel subsoil, while the soil is made up of different types of gravel, with fine gravel and old sand.
The vinification and ageing
Hand-picked, the grapes are rigorously sorted before being vinified by plot in temperature controlled tanks.
The blend
Château Moulinet 2010 is a blend of Merlot and Cabernet Franc.
The tasting
Colour
The colour is intense and deep.
Nose
The nose blends fruity fragrances (black fruits) with refreshing minty notes.
Palate
Full and precise, this wine seduces the palate due to its power and density. Persistent, the finish harmoniously combines finesse and character.
