Description
A Racy Classified Third Growth with Class
Grape harvest began at Chateau Palmer on October 3rd, one of the latest in the property's history. The volume is modest, but the aromatic intensity of the grapes is impressive. The aromas have a hint of perfectly ripe tannins. The 2016 Chateau Palmer is a blend of 47% Merlot, 47% Cabernet Sauvignon and 6% Petit Verdot. Harvest took place on October 3rd-October 18th.
Chateau Palmer 2016 has a very deep, ink-like colour. The nose is rich and fragrant with a radiant aromatic freshness of concentrated black fruits (blackcurrant, blackberry and crushed raspberries). The freshness of the fruit is mixed with an olfactory sensation that focuses on depth and subtlety. The mouth is precise with a crisp acidic attack. The palate tickles the mouth with racy tannins that leave a creamy sensation. The weight of the wine is impressive. Palmer 2016 is incredibly drinkable at this stage and well-balanced. A Palmer full of class.
