Description
The Precision of a Delicious and Refined Grand Cru Classé from Saint-Émilion
With its exceptional terroir located in the heart of Libourne, the Grand Cru Classé Château Quinault l’Enclos is one of the most interesting references of the Saint-Émilion appellation, on the Right Bank of the Bordeaux region.
Acquired by the shareholders of the iconic Cheval Blanc in 2008, Château Quinault l'Enclos benefited from the expertise of experienced technical teams and a restructuring of its vineyard that allowed it to reveal the quality and the complexity of this fine terroir. Grown and vinified with the same philosophy as Cheval Blanc, the great wine of Château Quinault l'Enclos is aged exclusively in barrels of 500 liters, 50% of which are new.
Spared by the episodes of frost at the end of April 2017, the Château Quinault l'Enclos vineyard enjoyed the conditions favourable for the development of a great Saint-Émilion wine.
Made from a blend of Merlot (62%) with a slightly higher proportion of Cabernet Sauvignon than in previous vintages (22%) supplemented by Cabernet Franc (16%), the Château Quinault l'Enclos 2017 is very expressive and fresh. The aromatic bouquet displays this unmistakable style, highlighting sparkling blackcurrant notes and a beautifully spicy touch, framed by the delicate floral aromas. The palate is delicious, revealing a worn-in texture without the mid-palate losing its depth and softness. The wine is balanced by a beautiful tension that stretches into a long and lingering finish. A superbly delicate, precise and generous Saint-Émilion, whose fantastic ageing potential is a testament to the talent of the Cheval Blanc team.
