Description

The refinement of a red wine from Saint-Julien by Château Talbot

The estate

A 4th Classified Growth of Saint-JulienChâteau Talbot is one of the iconic references of Haut-Médoc. Acquired by Desire Cordier in 1918, Château Talbot is today managed by Nancy Bignon-Cordier and her husband, Jean-Paul Bignon.

The vineyard

The Château Talbot vineyard is a real treasure, covering 110 hectares of vines all in one piece, in the heart of the Saint-Julien appellation. These vines, aged 45 years on average, have an ideal location on the edge of the Gironde estuary, planted on ridges of Médoc gravel and alluvial deposits.

Vinification and ageing

Harvested manually, the grapes are subjected to successive sorting (manual and optical) before vinification in oak vats. Ageing lasted 15 months in barrels, 60% of which were of new oak.

The blend

The Château Talbot 2020 is made from a blend of Cabernet Sauvignon (76%), Merlot (21%) and Petit Verdot (3%).
