The Côtes du Rhône Villages Plan de Dieu has been a recognized appellation since 2005 and it covers 1,500 hectares in the heart of the Rhône Valley. The appellation is shared among the Camaret-sur-Aigues, Jonquières, Labor and Violès communes. Benefiting from a Mediterranean climate, the vines are planted on soils consisting of an alluvial terrace, calcareous gravel, clay and sandstone. The Côtes du Rhône Villages Plan de Dieu produces only red wines made from Grenache, Syrah and Mourvèdre. They develop rich and concentrated aromas of flowers, spices and garigue scrubland before expressing more leather, aniseed and spicy notes as they age.
