Description
A white wine from Andalusia marked by refinement and precision
The estate
The Spanish estate De la Riva, established for two centuries in Macharnudo, embodies Andalusia’s winemaking heritage and expertise. The De la Riva family has preserved and cultivated the excellence of this unique terroir, renowned for the exceptional purity of its limestone soils. The estate stands out for its commitment to tradition and authenticity, while integrating modern techniques to elevate each vintage.
The vineyard
Producing some of the world’s most acclaimed Spanish wines, Macharnudo is a legendary vineyard whose origins date back to 1269. In 2022, Macharnudo was selected by Decanter magazine as one of the 10 most renowned vineyards in the world. The vineyard spans 3.35 hectares of albariza, a very pure limestone soil composed of the siliceous skeletons of microscopic diatoms, imparting a unique minerality and complexity to the wines.
The vintage
The year 2024 began with dry and slightly warm conditions, ending on a gentle note. Slow ripening, encouraged by moderate temperatures and humid winds, produced an elegant, chalky and sapid wine. This wine stands out for its exceptional aging potential, while being enjoyable in its youth. It perfectly embodies the unique character of its legendary terroir, offering a refined and memorable tasting experience.
Grape variety
Macharnudo San Cayetano 2024 from De la Riva is 100% Palomino Fino.
