Description
An Andalusian white wine imbued with refinement and precision
The estate
The Spanish Domaine De la Riva, established for two centuries in Macharnudo, embodies Andalusian winemaking heritage and expertise. The De la Riva family has managed to preserve and cultivate the excellence of this unique terroir, renowned for the exceptional purity of its limestone soils. The estate stands out for its commitment to tradition and authenticity while integrating modern techniques to elevate each vintage.
The vineyard
Producing some of the world’s most acclaimed Spanish wines, Macharnudo is a legendary vineyard whose origins date back to 1269. In 2022, Macharnudo was selected by Decanter magazine as one of the 10 most prestigious vineyards in the world. The vineyard covers 3.35 hectares of Albariza, a very pure limestone soil composed of the siliceous skeletons of microscopic diatomaceous algae, giving the wines a unique minerality and complexity.
The vintage
The year 2024 began with dry and slightly warm conditions, ending on a gentle note. Slow ripening, favored by moderate temperatures and humid winds, gave rise to an elegant, chalky and sapid wine. This wine stands out for its exceptional aging potential while being enjoyable from its youth. It perfectly embodies the unique character of its legendary terroir, offering a refined and memorable tasting experience.
Grape variety
The Macharnudo San Cayetano 2024 from Domaine De la Riva is 100% Palomino Fino.
