The brilliance and precision of a natural red wine from the Jura

The estate
Established in the Jura, this exceptional vineyard that is Domaine de la Borde was founded in 2003 by Julien Mareschal, the current owner. Arriving in the region at the age of twenty-three with a background in oenology, he first took over a few plots before expanding his vineyard to its current size of 5.5 hectares. Strongly inspired by local figures of natural winemaking, he favours a low-intervention approach. Today, the estate is renowned for its deep commitment to the authentic expression of terroir, positioning itself as an essential and environmentally respectful player.

The vineyard
Located on the steep slopes of the village of Pupillin, within the Arbois-Pupillin appellation, the vineyard rises to an altitude of 550 metres. The vines flourish on a complex geological mosaic made up of blue marls, red Triassic clays and local schists. Farmed biodynamically since 2009 and certified organic, the estate prohibits any synthetic chemical products. The soils are maintained mechanically and naturally grassed to encourage microbial life, while biodynamic preparations are applied to strengthen the resilience of the vines.

Winemaking and aging
True to the estate's philosophy, this cuvée is crafted according to the principles of natural winemaking. The process is characterised by minimal intervention in the cellar, allowing the identity of its native terroir to be conveyed with the utmost precision.
