Description
A full-bodied and beautifully balanced red wine from Côtes du Roussillon Villages
The estate
Crowned Best Young Sommelier of France at just 21, Hervé Bizeul fell in love with the almost unreal landscapes of the majestic Vingrau cirque, at the foothills of the Pyrénées-Orientales in Roussillon. A restaurateur, writer, and deeply connected to both land and vine, he founded the Domaine du Clos des Fées in 1997 with his wife.
Over the vintages, Domaine du Clos des Fées has established itself as an essential reference among the finest names in Roussillon. Faithful to their original terroir, these exceptional cuvées stand out for their intensity, balance, and remarkable aging potential.
The vineyard
A true emblem of the great wines of Roussillon, Domaine du Clos des Fées oversees 30 hectares of vines spread across 112 plots. This forms an authentic mosaic of soils, cultivated using sustainable farming practices.
The wine
The Vieilles Vignes cuvée from Domaine du Clos des Fées is a Côtes du Roussillon Villages wine made from vines planted on clay-limestone soils, on hillsides at an average altitude of 250 meters. Soil work is carried out, except on certain plots where the age of the vines and their goblet training make it impractical.
Blend
The Vieilles Vignes cuvée from Domaine du Clos des Fées is a blend of Grenache, Syrah, Lledoner Pelut, and Carignan.
