The producer
Located in the heart of the village of Gervans, in the Drôme region of the Rhône Valley, the family estate was established in 1870. In 2002, brother and sister, Laurent Fayolle and Céline Nodin, represented the family's 6th generation and took over the family business. The estate became known by the name of Domaine Fayolle Fils & Fille and major revonation work was carried out. In 2020, Domaine Laurent Fayolle became the estate’s official and final name.
The vineyard
Domaine Laurent Fayolle watches over a 6.5-hectare vineyard which spreads over the Crozes-Hermitage, Hermitage and Saint-Péray appellations. Favouring low yields, Domaine Laurent Fayolle highlights the nuances of the Rhône Valley’s great terroirs through cuvées which express seductive finesse and aromatic intensity.
The wine
An exceptional wine, the 2017 Clos Les Cornirets by Domaine Laurent Fayolle comes from a 0.83 hectare plot. Located on a south-facing hillside in the village of Crozes-Hermitage, the vines are over 80 years old and are planted on a granite slope.
The vinification and ageing
Following the manual harvest, the grapes are sorted and destemmed. Vinification takes place in concrete tanks using wild yeast. The wine is aged in barrels for 12 months.

Storage
Clos Les Cornirets 2017 by Domaine Laurent Fayolle can be cellared until around 2032 in order to reveal its full range of aromas.
Sourced from a small parcel grown on granite soils in the village of Crozes-Hermitage, the 2017 Crozes Hermitage Clos les Cornirets boasts attractive aromas of grilled plums. It's medium to full-bodied, with a slight sense of austerity on the palate and some dry, chewy tannins on the finish.
