Description
The complexity and balance of a Loire white wine
The estate
Arnaud, Lionel and Jean-Christophe Bourgeois are the third generation at the helm of the family estate founded in 1950 by Henri Bourgeois. Covering 72 hectares, the vineyard of the Domaine Henri Bourgeois lies on a mosaic of terroirs composed of clay-limestone soils, Kimmeridgian marl, and flint, all contributing to the signature of each of these Loire wines. Through passion and the rigor applied both in vineyard management and in parcel-by-parcel vinification, of which they were pioneers, the Bourgeois Family produces wines renowned for their quality, finesse, and pure expression of each of these great original terroirs.
The vineyard
Grande Réserve de la Famille Bourgeois is a Sancerre wine from vineyards planted on clay-limestone soils.
Winemaking and aging
A gentle pressing intended to preserve the aromatic potential of the grapes is followed by a natural cold settling of the must. This Sancerre white wine undergoes fermentation in stainless steel tanks (16 to 19°C) before aging on fine lees for 5 months.
Blend
This Grande Réserve 2024 from the Domaine Henri Bourgeois is 100% Sauvignon Blanc.
