An exceptional Pouilly-Fumé from a great Kimmeridgian terroir in the Loire
The estate
Established in 1850 in Saint-Satur, Domaine Laporte cultivates 21 hectares in the heart of the Sancerre appellation. Run by Arnaud and Cédric Bourgeois since the family acquisition in 1986, this estate stands out for its historic single-parcel approach and its organic certification obtained in 2013. Specializing in Sauvignon Blanc and Pinot Noir, the domaine produces high-precision vegan wines.
The vineyard
The La Vigne de Beaussopet plot spans 1.25 hectares of old vines within the Pouilly-Fumé appellation. This exceptional terroir lies on Kimmeridgian marl—clay soils rich in Jurassic marine fossils—that impart the wine’s distinctive minerality and aromatic complexity.
The vintage
The 2022 vintage in the Loire was marked by favorable weather conditions allowing optimal ripening of Sauvignon Blanc, yielding wines of great aromatic finesse and beautiful balance.
Winemaking and aging
After manual harvesting, the grapes for La Vigne de Beaussopet 2022 are gently pressed at low pressure. Cold static settling precedes 9 months of aging on fine lees, split between stainless steel tanks (50%), oak barrels (40%), and amphorae (10%). Regular bâtonnage over 4 months enriches the wine’s texture.
Grape variety
100% Sauvignon Blanc from old vines cultivated according to organic farming principles.
