Description
A precise and smooth red wine from Beaujolais
The estate
The Domaine Louis-Claude Desvignes has been located in the heart of the Morgon appellation, in Beaujolais, since 1772. A key figure in the region, Louis-Claude Desvignes elevated the estate to the rank of major references. The Desvignes cuvées are unanimously praised by the press and international critics. Today, Claude-Emmanuelle and Louis-Benoît, representatives of the 8th generation of winemakers, run the estate.
The vineyard
From the vines of Louis-Claude Desvignes, this Morgon comes from 11 hectares spread over 3 climats. Facing southeast on the hillsides that dominate the appellation, the Côte du Py climat covers 2.20 hectares, with vines approximately 70 years old. The soils are composed of schist and decomposed eruptive rocks.
Grape variety
The Côte du Py 2021 from Louis-Claude Desvignes is made exclusively from gamay.
